This year, for the third row, we spent a few days in Asturias, in the west, particularly in the region vaqueira in the municipality of Valdés. As always in this land have enjoyed considerably Dining and some of the time without looking, I mean, without reservation and improvising the site at the last minute.

Again we dropped by our beloved and known Casa Consuelo (Otur) during some of those precious days when children and adults enjoyed at the nearby beach Otur. A break to enjoy the excellent beans and fish of this House, ending his fine and delicate apple pie, it's always deserved. Some days we stayed at the Beach Snack Otur with the kids is also good choice and the quality is pretty decent, plus reserved table when you want, something I can not say about Casa Consuelo, perhaps its biggest drawback.

A couple of days we changed the beach for the mountains and the area chosen was the most precious valley walls where in addition to stroll through the Natural Monument of the Gorges of Esva enjoying the valley and its mountains, including dip in the River Esva, we repeat the very short but excellent menu of Casa del Obispo (San Pedro de Paredes). Stew, pot Asturian Chosco (headboard lightly smoked pork loin and cooked), ham and stewed meat was all we need to gain energy path. I realize as I write this I have not shared any article of Bishop's House and I apologize, because no excuse not to share this experience, although one of those places that one would like to selfishly keep in your pocket as the treasure it certainly is.

A year passed could not miss to try the Lobster Rice of White restaurant (La Colorada) near Navia. I have to say that the rice was slightly last year, but the sauce and stew excellent quality, so our confidence is still intact, but watchful. Croquettes and crawfish tails with Potato Liquid can not be overlooked on a visit. Also this year we enjoyed in their new shows this spring after completing the reform that has taken them some time.

For the tribute we opted for a safe value, our well known Casa Gerardo (Candas). A place to enjoy and you can say that is increasing every year, more settled, more rounded and evolving every day in your kitchen without sacrificing their traditional dishes. Sample the short menu for dinner that left more than satisfied on account, among other things, including his stew and rice pudding cream dishes that are compelling. Peter and his team charming as ever.
Also repeat the modest Casa Fernando (Ballota) and although I can not say we ate badly, always say that this site should look a little more attention. Also sorry to say, but this year was overwhelming the amount of flies that were in the restaurant. I know this summer has been a common disease in many parts of Valdes and it has happened at other restaurants, but really, this time was unbearable and there are simple ways to avoid, or at least reduce it. Anyway is a place that we still have in mind for a family dinner where you can appreciate its great value.
The ten days have also given us new experience for some and Restaurant Marino (Artedo Shell). We had high expectations of their seafood but ultimately we went with subtle disappointment after our dinner. This may be your letter, your choices or our choice, but not convinced. Regarding the room I think you should see for yourself. With all due respect to their founders and more than 50 years the family has regentando this business think they should enhance the decor of the room to remove more out and combine it with the beautiful views of the shell Artedo. On the other hand and although seafood dominate your letter, I think they should incorporate a good red meat to his letter to balance it, the calf is not currently serving up to the seafood. Oviedo is also no doubt that has been the discovery of the trip, Laure (Oviedo). A walk through the old town of Oviedo casually took the beautiful Plaza de Trascorrales which houses this eatery run by Alonso Hernandez family. Good night Asturias is always a gift, these premises have been spending some days in the eastern Asturias, starting with the restaurant "The Shack" with a good level both in raw materials, processing and customer service is on the second roundabout Llanes, Asturias at Covadonga.
The Llagar of John, feature mainly for its cuisine and service home treatment very "open" their "vermouth" self-made and "beans with clams" worthy to consider.
We passed ballasts and of course, went to "Eutimio" and was a mess, when you call to book we were put to the "second shift" at 16h direct on arrival the staff gave us hurry to go, once we sat there discuss the "lack of food", yet we go forward. A steak with mushrooms and foie, criminal, foie full of "veins", veal dry and desaparecidoooo service. My husband took "pretty" and the freshness of fish is "safe." It's a shame to travel to Lastres hoping to make a seafood or a barbecue and you say "THAT WAS IN CHARGE IF ANY, NOW IMPOSSIBLE."
