Azurmendi Jatetxea

30 kilometers from Bilbao is the town of Dima. In this town, nestled in the beautiful valley of Arratia, the restaurant is famous Azurmendi (Azurmendi Jatetxea), an eatery located at the top of one of the hills surrounding the town.

Azurmendi Jatetxea offers hearty, homemade and tasty. Nosostros, well advised by locals, we went with the intention of enjoying a meal of beans of Tolosa with sacraments. Beans, which are also sold dried in the same restaurant, prepared in a large perolo on the fire and then served with chorizo, sausage, bacon, pork and veal.

Truly a spectacular dish. The beans buttery and soft with the perfect accompaniment to some sacraments of first quality. It should be noted that leave on the table a pot of beans enough for each guest repeat twice.

Just for this dish is worth a visit Azurmendi Jatetxea. One of the guests did not enjoy the beans and he did a rich stew of vegetables in Spanish sauce. The vegetables are served lightly breaded, in a kind of tempura. The Spanish sauce is a sauce commonly used in meat dishes based on beef broth, carrots, leeks, onions and celery.

The main courses consisted of Beef Stuffed Peppers, also lightly breaded and very soft; escalope, not just those who are included in children's menus because almost out of the dish, and Bacalao al Pil Pil, perhaps the most unfortunate dish the afternoon as it was something salty.

Ask curd dessert and homemade cheesecake and a platter of assorted cheeses with walnuts. Nor was there much room in the stomach for much more. During the meal we drank Rioja house rich enough and at the end we were presented with a glass of sloe gin.
